What You Put In Your Body Can Prevent Anxiety
What You Put In Your Body Can Prevent Anxiety.

Diet is important when you are trying to rid yourself of anxiety. As such, you need to watch out what you are eating and drinking because what you put in your body can greatly determine whether you will be able to avoid this problem or not.

Water to stop anxiety

Water is a basic need, which means we cannot live long without it. It has the necessary components to hydrate our body and if we miss out a day without water then life would be so bad. You have probably heard of water therapy and how this treatment has cured so many illnesses over the years. In fact, the drinking of water to cure ailments has been practiced for thousands of years already and has always proven effective.

Water has also become instrumental in the cure of anxiety. Since 75% of Americans do not have sufficient water intake, we are mostly dehydrated. However, we have been so used to this feeling that we often do not notice it at all. We mistake it for hunger which is entirely a different thing. It also slows down metabolism which can result in a poor diet.

As water dehydration often causes daytime fatigue, it is necessary to always make it a point to drink enough water so we do not have to suffer this. You see, when we lack water, our body cells suffer too. Our body will then react by sending messages in our brains that can cause anxiety. Problems such as a hangover result in electrolyte imbalance and dehydration. If you have ever been drunk and experienced a hangover the next day, you would know what this is like.

By drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, you can avoid suffering from dehydration. And by being aware that dehydration triggers anxiety, though subtly, you can actually lower down incidences of this mental condition. If we want to stay healthy and be anxiety-free, we need to take as much water as we can.

Food to stop anxiety

Diet, as mentioned earlier, contributes a lot towards maintaining a problem-free life. This applies to everything around us, from preventing diseases to improving our relationships. Diets can truly affect how we live our life.

Due to our busy and unhealthy lifestyle, most of us have an acidic diet. This could lead to susceptibility to stress and health problems. If our body is becoming way too acidic, we become more prone to anxiety. So what we can do with this is we need to eat the food that can balance our body by lowering the pH with the help of alkaline substances that can be found in the food we eat. If our body is acidic, toxic substances will accumulate and this results in the malfunction of some of our systems, in worst case scenario. You need to have a buffer because unless you do so, your body could become poisoned and you will suffer the consequences. By seriously looking into your diet and find out if you are eating the right kinds of food, you can be assured that you are keeping healthy and maintaining an internal balance in your body.

Components such as salt and sugar whether refined or processed, nuts, grains and dairy products can make your body acidic and prone to sickness. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables and natural juices are of alkaline content and will improve your general health and will make your body stronger, thus preventing problems such as anxiety to take place.

To achieve a balance in your body, you should aim to get 80% alkaline in your diet. Since fruits and vegetables are rich in alkaline, you can take in a lot of these and a little bit of protein because of course you also need protein in your diet. This could either be animal protein (through meat) and some yogurt. A good diet can consist of 5 fruits and vegetables, 50 grams of meat and 36 ounces of yogurt. This should be sufficient enough to make your diet alkaline and at the same time provide you with the energy you need for the day.

Here are some fruits and vegetables that are alkaline, and are highly recommended for your diet to get rid of anxiety. Parsnips, rutabagas, green beans, white potatoes, green peas, mushrooms, muskmelon, tomatoes, cantaloupe, pineapples, apricots, limes, grapes, raspberries, apples, peaches, dried dates, blackberries, dried figs, bananas, avocados, raisins, watermelons, almonds, honeydew melon, molasses, beets, sauerkraut, cucumbers, raspberries, radishes, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, almonds, raw spinach, carrots and soy beans.

Minerals to stop anxiety

Minerals are very effective in making your body alkaline. It is useful in buffering the acidity and if we have insufficient mineral intake, the results could bring about imbalance. When our body is more alkaline than acidic, we are healthier and become less prone to diseases, mentally and physically. Though some people are afraid to take in mineral supplements, it is important to know that they can be excreted from the urinary tract so they do not stay in the body for long. After they have done their job making the body alkaline, they are taken out by peeing.

The function of minerals does not stop at making our body alkaline. It is also vital in making our body work normally, especially our brain. Magnesium, for example, is required by 270 processes in the body. If Magnesium is amiss, our systems will malfunction and the result could be detrimental. Additionally, sodium and potassium also play an important role in making sure our nervous system is working properly. If we are highly deficient on these minerals, our brain cells will die and will result in people going into a coma.

Minerals can be found in many things in nature. We can find them in nutrient-rich ingredients such as flax seed oil, colloidal minerals, raw adrenaline concentrate and even in a vitamin B complex.

A few years ago, a research was done in a group of people and was found out that schizophrenia was significantly improved when those afflicted were on a gluten-free diet. This may not have anything to do with anxiety but it is a good example of how our diets can actually cure and prevent such conditions.

If we are just cautious in what we eat and drink, we can really help ourselves avoid anxiety. As this mental condition is really destructive not only to us but also to those we love, it is necessary for us to really make an effort to work hard at making sure we eat a balanced diet. We do not want to go on with our lives and realize too late that our diet has caused inconsiderable damage to us. By simply taking time and discipline to ensure we put the right stuff in our body, we could reap numerous benefits from it and among these would be a life without having to deal with anxiety.
